“Floraless: The New Order of Fashion”
Fashion Show
WHO: Fashion students at The Art Institute of Atlanta
WHAT: “Floraless: The New Order of Fashion”
A
spring-summer fashion show that shakes up the traditional mindset of
springtime fashions and presents a more innovative point of view. Five
creative designers will each showcase eight to ten looks that include
features like stripes, crop tops and draped skirts. The fashion show
will present a collection of hot new trends for spring/summer looks
while rebelling against the industry’s cliché floral prints.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 11, 2014, 5 pm
WHERE: The Art Institute of Atlanta, 6600 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd NE, 100 Embassy Row, Atlanta, GA 30328, just north of Abernathy Road in Sandy Spring. Four blocks from GA 400.
WHY: In the film “The Devil Wears Prada,” Meryl Streep, her voice dripping with sarcasm, says, “Florals,
for spring? Groundbreaking…” Fashion students at The Art Institute of
Atlanta have taken her mocking words to heart and designed a spring
fashion show that aims to reveal something different.

without charge. Tickets will be sold at the door, subject to availability.
VISUALS:
40+ looks from five local designers creatively styled for spring and
summer – with no floral prints! See stripes, dots, geometric textiles in
some of the season’s trendiest shapes. Behind the scenes shots can be
arranged, as can interviews with the students and faculty who have
created the show.
